Well, anything on an 'E' registration is going to be among the first 75 cars, 50 or so of which were Vignale built.

Looks like this one from the tear in the drivers seat:

Hello Ed
Looks a very original early car to me especially engine bay
Single snorkel air filter, centre rad cap
Body no vents in rear pillar and 1/3 pleats to front seats in the front.
Definitely before number 2960
Has it still got cross plys on ?

And the steering wheel matches too.
And the time on the clock is the same!
And the second digit of the mileage on both is a 4
QED methinks. :-)

Hi,

Thinking of bidding for it - Any reason not too please.

No idea how complete it is, the headlamp surrounds are missing and the hatch cover is not there...

Drivers mirror glass is missing and both exhaust manifolds are missing too, so it has been worked on for some reason at some point.

If parts are missing, how easy is it to find them now days, especially is this is really Vignale

Hopefully maybe please is this a positive or negative Jensen to restore.

Kind regards
Neil

Have contacted the vendor to see if I can view it. It looks complete, except for exhaust manifold, but is there anything I should really look for that is specific to these very early cars to make sure it is complete. I will assume it is an early West Brom car and not a Vignale, apart from the obvious wheel arch trims and door cards, are there any Vignale specific parts that may be apparent on such an early car?

Kev& Neil.
I could be wrong but someone posted on Instagram last night a picture of this car and another green Mk1 and said they had bought them both, obviously you may get a different reply from the vendor I don't know but just thought I would share this info, this is the green one and there was similar about the yellow one too. >>

Hi all,

Any chance value can be guessed. I know mk1's have always been the cheapest cars so are we talking £5,000, £10,000 or more for this timeworn car.

The fact that the colour is not metallic peat now but beige means a colour change has been done as peat is a purple colour. With Beige being original colour, it is now black or dark blue inside.

Is anyone else bidding please, keen to know

cheers

Neil, if it is indeed 115/2464 then the original colour was Mist Grey with black interior.
It is the car in the pictures on the link to the Mk1 site that I posted earlier but the details on the Mk1 site are a bit mixed up, i.e. original registration number, colour as peat with beige interior are for car 2465 so a bit of confusion there.
The chassis number needs to be confirmed somehow to be sure what the situation is.

That may have been the case many years ago, but I would certainly not say that the Mk I model is the "cheapest" these days.

Quite the contrary.

Any guesses please why both exhaust manifolds would be missing

Does this sound like a head issue or coolant caps leaking. But seller has no idea, he said he did not even realise they were missing.......

At a guess I'd say someone took them off and put them down somewhere.
