The highly respected owner of S44 tells me that the covers of his sidelights are original and stamped Lucas.

It will be very interesting to see Mark. Three S type tourers have sold in the UK in last six or seven years, but the last H type tourer sold was fourteen years ago, it was in South Africa, and the price including commission was about GBP150,000. Not sure when the last one before that sold - maybe 30 years previously!
Being at auction you just can't guess, so if you are interested you may as well place a bid - you've nothing to lose.

The digital catalogue is now on line from RMsoutheby….The Fred Guyton collection. Very impressive book and a good read. I think it is fair to say that the guide estimates are really a come and buy me idea, and I reckon all the sales will be higher than these figures. All are offered with no reserve.
LOT 372 is the H Type Jensen,and it is estimated at $175 - 225K
Sale date 4th and 5th May. Not sure if there will be a live feed ?

Just to say that the sale comes up Sat/Sun this week. Rmsotheby,s have more interesting info now on their site (Guyton collection). Bearing in mind that a world record price for a US manufactured car,Dussenberg,at $22 Million,no,not 2 million...22million,then I think we are in for some stunning prices here, and that my include the Jensen...Lot 372. Hold onto jour hats !

Of the cars in the auction, the only one that would interest me (if I had the money) would be the 1970 Maserati Mexico.
One of the more unusual items in the auction is this Helios Hair Growth Kit (estimated at $100 - $150)

SOLD ...Hammer £130K. ...In fact there were some reasonably priced vehicles here. The lot previous,a Nash 8 convertible, one of only three recorded, and with the same straight 8 as the Jensen made£236K. However, all very interesting.

Michael - Pounds or dollars? - would expect US $ for a US sale, but a bargain in either currency!Michael Richardson wrote:SOLD ...Hammer £130K. ...In fact there were some reasonably priced vehicles here. Good evening Marcus. I watched the live feed, and above the auctioneer, you have a panel showing the world currencies as they move for each bid.. My figures are taken in £GBP. Bear in mind that there is,I believe a 12% comm on top of these figures.....so it is fair to say that the H Type very much made the price that Mike refered to above. What will be interesting to find out ,as the car is RHD,whether an English buyer has acquired it. Reg.No BUE 922. Let us hope that It will be repatriated to the UK. Best wishes, Michael.
