Mike,
Do you know what year it was?
Could then look in the old Club magazines that are now on line.

Hello Mike- hope your still plugging away mate!
Biggin.
This was Peter Adams gig for yonks, the days when He, Mike Nash, Norman Long,Ron & Horton owned concour- Peter organised the event for years, till like most things got uber commercial & everyone had to pay etc etc.
I likley have a few phot's, the event was always posted in magazine.
Peters car would have been quite a young old bus then, but he did love & champion a concour!
Peter tipped up out of blue at last years Excel London show, I hadn't seen him in ages- he had suffered a heart attack & in fact died- but lives to tell the tale- he looked in great shape & happy the JOC was so well represented still.
John & FHDCC (our cv8 reg) has been back since to Biggin, its a funny show & they are not easy organisers to deal with!
We can return I'm sure...

I can't remember the year, but I believe Dave Horton was there and possibly another member flew in !! Would that have been Peter Adams ?
Be nice to see some photos. I am pretty sure I took my dark blue 541 that day.

My Uncle was in the RAF and I always went to the air fair as a child in the 1970's. I remember the classic car parade and always loved the Jensens in particular. Below is my car with the Biggin Hill Spitfires in the early 1980's.

Re: 1970's JOC rally at Biggin Hill
Thank you Zac for those extracts. I note that I was there, with my wife and two youngsters(Jason and Katie ,6and4). If this was '78 ,then I would have sold my Jensen GT,so we would have traveled up from West Sussex in one of those Jap sewing machine things, but I must admit that I don't remember the event.

I too don't remember much about that day and I thought I had some photos somewhere, but can not trace them.
Good to read about it though !!

Re: 1970's JOC rally at Biggin Hill
I've asked John Lane (Club Secretary and Archivist) if he has some photos of Biggin Hill shows.
I have been trying to get copies of what John has so we can share them to members via the web site. John has been a member since 1976, not sure when he became Club Archivist through.
Note that John is standing down as Club Secretary but will continue as Archivist / Historian (just as well as I would hate to have to help move it all )
