Automotive Porn

Post by Kevin Birch »

I have been looking for some Weber 40DCOE31 carbs(40DCOE31 were the specified carbs and the number is engraved on the cover) for my MK 2 Lotus Cortina for a few years now, my carbs were replaced many years ago with incorrect units. These were on EBAY and in Croatia, I took the gamble and they arrived today, albeit the seller had 100% feed back and over a thousand feed back score, but you never know. Cost me £680 an absolute bargain, well chuffed.
Don't know whether to put them on the car or put them on the mantlepiece on display. :D

The car is just a shell at the moment, on a spit, but I have volunteered the engine for a display item on my local car club stand at the Restoration Show at the NEC in March. More work I haven't really got time for, but enjoy the challenge, as we all do.

Put them on the mantlepiece?! Isn't there any room in your bed?
