Re: New Oxford Diecast Interceptor
Well Oxford seem to have produced another beautiful model.
Looking forward to it arriving.

Re: New Oxford Diecast Interceptor
Looks nice. But I think a thorough inspection is required. Looks to me as though that early MK1 has had a heavy front end smash and been rebuilt with a late Mk2 front end.

Nice Rostyles. But Mk1 details everywhere - head rests, dashboard, locking fuel flap.
And, usually seen with model cars, the wipers and mirrors have the wrong scale - too big/heavy. Pity because other details are pretty good (door handles being an example)

Re: New Oxford Diecast Interceptor
Has any one realised which car the model is based upon?
At Car Fest 2015, I think, I had a long chat with a member of staff from Oxford Diecast who had a stand selling their wares. I explained about the Turin trip and the 50th anniversary and the "unusual previous life" of the first pre-production Interceptor. Wouldn't that make a good model for the 50th anniversary?
A few emails passed subsequently including a few photos and the trail went quiet ending from Oxford Diecast, "we'll send you a model if we produce one".
I forgot all about it.
Well, at about 09.10 this morning, a UPS van pulled up outside and low and behold duly delivered a model of BEA 693C from Oxford Diecast.Totally unexpected.
I then see an email from them announcing the launch of the new model.

As you have an actual example of the model, does it have the correct Mk I front end on it? And not the Mk II front shown on the pics above?shaun wrote: low and behold duly delivered a model of BEA 693C from Oxford Diecast.

Just looked. It has Mk 2 overriders. That's a bit of a bummer!

Also number plate and indicators below the bumper instead of above. Bit of a slip up.

Oh yes. Your Chairman is so stupid. I should have realised but it didn't click with me.
Bit of a shame really as Oxford normally do a good job.

Re: New Oxford Diecast Interceptor
Just had a closer look at another Mk1 Interceptor model by Oxford Diecast.
In this instance they clearly had put a Mk1 front on. Pity it wasn't used for the new model.

Either Oxford slipped up or their manufacturer slipped up.
