SAVE THE DATE, International event JUNE 2021 - BACK TO TURIN

Post by Chris_R »

With all the advance notifications of various international events keep in mind that 2021 is the 50th anniversary of the launch of the SP and of the Interceptor III.
It will also be 5 years on from the 1st Turin run.
Would there be any interest in a return to Turin?
I'm sure visits to the Lingotto rooftop track and to the site of the Vignale factory can be organised - our friend who runs the current business at the site said "My Jensen friends will always be welcome here".

Hopefully a mirror trip of the last one, how can you improve perfection?

Some things would be repeated e.g. drive on the Lingotto building rooftop test track (I am told the banked curves at each end are now open), visit to the ex-Vignale factory where the first cars were made, hopefully the banquet in the motor museum which was a fantastic venue. Some things would definitely not be repeated e.g. the hotel in Chaumont where Nigel headbutted the moose, I don't think with the best will in the world we would want to go there again!
Hopefully, depending on dates, there could also be an opportunity to take part in the Turin Outdoor Auto Show, a city wide show where squares and streets transform into meeting places for supercars, prototypes, one-offs and classic cars, which would be a new thing to do for the trip.

We trust your taste and judgement implicitly as we rightly did before, whatever the final itinerary includes you have already sold 2 places to us. The convertible would love to return also.
Simon and Alison.

I'd be very interested in joining this one as the long trips are aways good fun. I'll need a new passport in 2021 so a good excuse to renew!

I would certainly be interested.
After all, I have some mountains to conquer that I had to go under last time. I also did only half the trip.

Come back James and start what you finished :D
I still have a wicked chuckle to myself seeing all the interceptors going over and the FF going through the tunnel, a bit like going on a bear hunt, we can't go under it, we can't go over it.....
