New paint on my Interceptor!
Having had a few "blemishes" on my Interceptor MK3 for a while, I was thinking I'd have to get the paintwork sorted in the coming few years.
Unfortunately it picked up a few more blemishes and a chip / ding or two during the recent Jensen Owners' Club USA trip, which I took part in in June, so the work was required sooner rather than later.
As the blemishes were on nearly every panel, plus, my car had been fitted with extra B-post door locks which I'd never used and to my eyes were a bit ugly, I decided to have them removed at the same time, so it ended up being time for a full re-spray.
Not bare-metal, as my aim was just to correct all of the blemishes and to fix couple of rusty sections including a front wheel arch, and to get a really top quality finish, in the same colour as previously; Jaguar Cranberry Red.
I chose Reammachine in Ilkeston to carry out the work - they're next-door-but-one to Appleyard Parts, which I found rather convenient as Appleyards were able to do a couple of things whilst it was being painted - including fitting a pair of the lovely new chrome door handles which Appleyards supply.
I'm extremely pleased with the result of the paint job, so I'd like to say a big thank you to Martin at Reemachine http://www.reemmachine.co.uk for getting the job done in a timely manner and to a very high standard at a sensible price.
If I've been able to successfully post pictures, you should see the result below - one photo was taken with the driver's door not fully closed before anyone criticises the panel gap!

Hi Martin
I saw your car when i was up at Appleyards to talk about engine work on the C-V8 (and talk to Reem Machine about painting the C-V8 engine bay) and though the imperfections and blemishes were ringed in chalk I struggled to see what the problems were! I'm used to a rather 'patinated' C-V8 I think. Your car looked good before the work and it must look superb now.

Re: New paint on my Interceptor!
Thanks for the compliments.
The water ingress problem I'm hoping has been resolved.
Whilst it was at Reemmachine, Appleyards being next door but one, fitted new door seals (the old ones were rubbish), checked the chrome/stainless gutters around the doors and also replaced and sealed the bonnet pull - a common place for water ingress is where the bonnet pull cable enters the car behind the brake servo.
They also double-checked that the air inlet in front of the screen was draining properly and not blocked.
Appleyards then checked as best they could with a hose.
Fingers crossed!

Re: New paint on my Interceptor!
For the record, Reemamachine are located in Ilkeston, just off junction 25 of the M1 motorway, not far from Nottingham.
It's a little closer to Nottingham than Derby but has a Derby Postcode:
Unit 3C, Plot 7, Eagle Court
Eagle Road
Quarry Hill Industrial Estate
Ilkeston
Derbyshire
DE7 4RB
Tel: 0115 944 2335

Looks fantastic. Had a look at the website at the red Jensen with gold stripe, thinking it was yours - bit shocked to discover it was mine!
