Re: Jensen GT 4.7
I believe this is the model which most of us would refer to as the S-V8.
What sort of information are you looking for?
There are a few owners who come on this forum and there is a dedicated section for that particular model.
Regards, Martin.

Or maybe it's the one-off SV8 coupe.

ALL ALUMINUM HAND CRAFTED BODY,THIS HAS TO BE THE BEST ONE LEFT ON THE ROAD TODAY. FOLDER FULL OF HISTORY, POWERED BY A FORD 4.6 LITRE V8 SVT (SPECIALIST VEHICLE TEAM) PRIVATE PLATE INCLUDED IN SALE. Blue, The 1998 British Motor Show saw the launch of the much acclaimed Jensen S-V8, a car that then spent two years in development and racked up 400 pre-orders., By 2001, production at the Speke factory was underway and dealers began receiving the first cars. Approximately 20 cars were ever built at Speke until July 2002, when the business sadly folded. It was thought that Jensen had spent some 10 million pounds setting up the S-V8 project, So If you do the math, this car should cost a cool £500,000. After all, Jensen's investors spent £10m producing an exciting new roadster, Performance was staggering for a two-seater sports car with front end styling reminiscent of the C-V8. A Powerful 32-valve 4.6 litre Ford V8 engine producing 316 bhp and 315 lb ft torque mated 5-speed manual box all built by the SVT (specialist vehicle team) department at Ford, All this built into a beautiful handcrafted Aluminum body, A real collectors piece, Come and view at our stunning heated showrooms.

Re: Jensen GT 4.7
I‘d love to have a Jensen GT with a 4.7 ltr engine.
Just a second ... sounds like a good idea. And I do have a GT

Re: Jensen GT 4.7
What happened to all those people who made a deposit on a new Jensen S-V8, but never got their car?
Did they lose that money, or was it held in a protected account and returned to them?
Will this be mentioned in Keith's new book?
Come on, Keith!

Re: Jensen GT 4.7
I attended the launch of the SV-8 at the local dealer (City Garage Group.Chichester) They put on a lunch on the green at The White Horse,Chilgrove. I am sure some of you know the pub. I lent them some of my memorabilia, posters sales brochures etc. I never got them back. The car on show was registered as their demonstrator,as I believe most of the 20 cars were at the remaining dealers. I am suprised to read of ..'the handcrafted, ally body'...Our take on first sight that the car was a rush to finish job,and also noted that rusty residue was sitting in the hood well.At £29500,it was going to be a hard car to shift.
Re: Jensen GT 4.7
Thank you, yes I've subsequently discovered it is the SV8. I recently saw one for the first time and basically wanted to garner as much information about it as I could, positives and negatives before considering purchasing, I would appreciate any info that you may have.

Re: Jensen GT 4.7
I know of somebody who was very interested in buying one of the new the Jensen SV8 and managed to get invited to one of the presentations when they were released. He went with cheque book in hand and was ready to pay a healthy deposit to secure one.
He returned and in his words ''they must be joking if they think I am going to spend £30k on one of those'' He was very disappointed in the panel gaps and build quality. Such a shame I wonder how many would have been made if things had turned out differently?

Steve. I agree with you,as you will see in my comments above. Having seen the 'finished' product,we knew it was a lost cause.

Re: Jensen GT 4.7
But that probably doesn't matter to Barry, buying one now, secondhand and having probably been "attended to" at some point.
