Re: Opportunity to take your Jensen to the USA 2018
We've just returned to the Monte Vista Hotel, the event host hotel, after an amazing and very sunny/hot show day in the town centre in Black Mountain, North Carolina.
I've posted a couple of pics on my Facebook which hopefully Zac will be kind enough to copy, evaluate and add if suitable.
Tonight is the "Banquet" and awards ceremony for any lucky cars from earlier judging.
We're heading off in the morning for the 4 hour drive to Charleston, South Carolina where we'll be staying for two nights
It's been terrific so far and great to meet a few Forum people, including Bill Martin and "Racerjoe" among several others.

why? I presume he will be doing a write up for the Magazine but I don't see that the publishing of images will detract from generating interest in this fantastic adventure/initative indeed the publicity should enhance and whet others interestzacmarshall wrote:Colin has asked for images to be removed until they are back to the UK.
Re: Opportunity to take your Jensen to the USA 2018
I expect that Colin's request is for security. On the Scandinavian trip a few years back people turned up to meet us because they knew where we would be from information and pictures on this forum. The decision was taken to delay information so that the location of the cars was not public knowledge.

We’re on the final part of our journey, having arrived at Virginia Beach VA. Tomorrow we will have around 250 miles drive to Baltimore docks to drop off our cars bringing to a close our incredible adventure.
Apart from a few minor niggles our cars have behaved perfectly so far

Re: Opportunity to take your Jensen to the USA 2018
We all managed to drop off the cars at Baltimore, less one MK2 Interceptor which is currently in New York visiting family, so that one will ship from New York instead.
Most folk have arrived safely home and Zac2 and I fly out of Washington tonight, after what has been one of the most amazing driving experiences of my life!
Hopefully, some pictures might now be posted, although I know we plan to reserve some of "the best ones" for the JOC magazine write-up.
It was brilliant to receive such a warm welcome from the USA Jensen owners and I sincerely hope that some them/you will come along to one of the UK International meetings soon - we will try our best to welcome you in the same manner you guys did, we promise!
To Don & Kathy - First class - thank you!
To Colin and Diane Mayes, who organised the tour, THANK YOU.
To everyone else who took their cars, it truly was a pleasure to enjoy your company along the way.
Just our flight home now...
Martin.

Indeed it was a great event and wonderful to put faces to names of people we have interwebbed/emailed over the years.
Kathy and Don did a great job with the organisation, we had a ball.
Here's a couple of pics, you are all on boats/planes so should be safe. We are still in the US, Boston to be precise so I shall form a rearguard to fight off the paparazzi.
We were sans Jensens and rented a convertible Mustang and drove the Blue Ridge Parkway up to Washington DC - stunning scenery, couldn't resist adding in a couple of panoramas as well.

Congratulations to Colin and Diane for organising a successful trip, and so pleased to read you all had a great time.
Re: Opportunity to take your Jensen to the USA 2018
Brandy and I had a fantastic time at the Jensen East Nationals. It was our first time and we enjoyed meeting everyone. We also enjoyed spending an evening with the JOC members from the UK while they were in Charleston. Lots of fun!
