Lenzerheide Motor Classics 2018 with the C-V8
Lenzerheide Motor Classics 2018 with the C-V8
I took part in the Lenzerheide Motor Classics this past weekend with the C-V8. It's a 2.4km circuit (altitude 1370-1520m) with no overtaking and a neutral zone at the end to allow the cars to start in compact field, where you can also pass the slower cars. I was in the field of cars over 2.5 litres, quite fast- and this was my first event so it was quite a steep learning curve. 4 runs, each 25 minutes, thankfully the weather was good. I had no idea what speeds to expect, but it's quite a bit faster than I'm used to. I drove the whole course in 2nd, with the car going into first after the start and after the corner at the end of the lake. Top speed on the course was along the lake- once I tried to go into 3rd gear, but the car immediately went back to 2nd. On the straights the gas pedal was on the floor. Acceleration and speed on the straights was good, but in the corners one does feel the weight of the C-V8 (tires screetching in every corner). I recorded the drives, below is the fourth run (the vertical lines denoting the start). Temperatures were in the mid or high 20s I think, the engine temperature was slightly above the middle at the end of the run.
I was in the back of the field, as time progressed I became more relaxed and confident, trying to brake later (scary)- and remembering to accelerate as soon as you get the chance and not just to roll out of the curve But- I was the only one in our field without seatbelts, some drove with slicks. The C-V8 held up well (credits to Andi), I might have developed an issue with one exhaust manifold (again). Lots of friendly people, and lots of compliments for the C-V8.

Your car looks fantastic Felix.
It would look good with the grille mesh on the bottom of the intake as well...
