Yup- Straight 8 had this one for sale for ever after the last boom/bust.

The S4 thing is odd, it has always been sort of outside 'normal jensen' like a odd club (not being rude) but all of them were not bought by shall we say, people like me- again not being rude- so, they in my exp have always been a little discreet- fair one.
Its just a little annoying that, as I'm the Variant man, S4 was always included & championed before I was lucky to have one, its like getting blood out of stone, when Mark did the book, all I could offer was 'i'll ask' but here is mine!

It is lovely to see this car again, I would be happy to own it, this is serious rarity- and the most usable handmade car this side a new (newport pagnal) Aston.
Its the best car I have ever known- power, well come on thats easy if bothered, If you are a serious Jensen collector, you would be melting this mans phone- I would.

The most underated Jensen ever, is.... the S4.
320 FF, 232 SP's- rocking horse crap,hens teeth, then the S4!!

Isn't the vin number strange and not in sequence with the rest of S4?

Nice coupé indeed.

Be great to see some more pictures especially of the differences in these last cars.

For example the different controls (and system?) for the heating/AC just to name one example.

I think, judging by the VIN number TP 72001588, it's a rebuild Interceptor III to S4 specs, right?

How many 2000 series S4 were build? 13 cars? 14, accounting the convertible body not finished

The chassis number is bizarre and not in sequence with the S4 production on Richard Calver's book.

Otherwise, a fantastic car

Interceptor S4 LHD 2016

Post by Richard Calver »

I think it is 2016. The odd VIN might be a European assignation for registration purposes. It wouldn't be the first Jensen with an assigned number, given that the Jensen numbering system doesn't comply with what most motor registries expect to find on a car.

Hi Rick,

Ok. So this one is 2016.

The convertible bodywork was then 2015?

As for the bizarre vin, I remember that some years ago I make a prospective purchase of 175/2xxx, and it had been registrered with the vin of another Interceptor of the same owner, I don't know if to avoid import taxes or to avoid homologation matters....

The S4 thing- its not like the factory proper- several cars started & ended different.
This is most deffo not a Mk111.

10 Years with S4.

Hello gentleman,
The car is NOT a rebuild Interceptor III and in order to put an end to further speculation and guesswork here is a picture series showing the car's birth.
http://sudokuboard.dk/
The car's sales price is now reduced to £ 110,000.00
