Hi Kevin
I am on the Wednesday boat.
Rotterdam?
As is Colin and Diane and Helen.
There is a car park inside the port on the right on a left hand bend.
If you want to meet up in the viewing point.
I have Colin's number to see if he wants to meet there.
I'm sure he will have Helens number.
Then all run in together.

The weather forecast is not really brilliant - please add a warm jumper, umbrella and (if needed) wellies.

Sorry, I ordered sun, but this year Goodwood was soaked as well ...

The weather seems to depend on which App you use, BBC weather are forecasting biblical rain yet Accu weather it is overcast with occasional showers, I reckon for once let hope the BBC are wrong.

It will be what it will be, looking forward to seeing a lot of familiar faces and some new.

Wednesday will be very bad. Torrential rain and high winds well over 100km/h are expected by all weather forecasters. If you arrive early Wednesday morning in Rotterdam Europoort or Hoek van Holland remain there until well after 09:00 as the roads will be jammed solid with that sort of weather. Also if you arrive on the Thursday morning it is wise to start of after 09:00 as the A20 and A15 and beyond will be very congested. Be careful to watch for debris, trees etc. on the road on the Wednesday. Fit decent windscreen wipers!!!
I was going to travel on the Wednesday from Heerjansdam (near Rotterdam) but because of the weather I will now start of on the Thursday and take the motorway/Autobahn via Osnabrück up to Herford, commence there with the scenic route incl. the Märchenstrasse to Eschwege and may do the final stretch using the Autobahn.
I will be fitting the hardtop today.

Have a good and safe trip.

Jens,

Unfortunatly a problem Sue has with her spine has flared up and after a MRI scan she had been advised not to travel.
As such, we regret, we will not be able to join you and the other Jensenites in Saxony. Our sincere apologies.

Please PM any outstanding charges so we can settle up.

Best regards,

John and Sue Carrier

Now, a few hours later, the forecasts are a bit conflicting. Strong wind on Wednesday but less rain and heavy rain on Thursday. Well we cannot change the weather and will have to hope for the best.

Forgot to mention:
if anybody needs some small(ish) J-H parts like rear/side/indicator lights, headlamp cowls, steering column (upper/lower), instruments, clocks, original rotor with rev limiter, original NOS/rebuild SU AUF301 fuel pump etc. etc. let me know. I have room left to take some stuff with me to Germany.

Looks like the tomorrows overnight crossing from Hull is going to be interesting, if you see me on Thursday and I'm green, you'll know how it went.

Don't worry. Once on solid ground you will regain your rosy cheeks instantly.
Anyway the ferries these days are stabilised by computer and nowhere near as bouncy as in the past.

I'm not a good sailor which is why we are going over on the Eurotunnel :-) Just got to make sure Charlie doesn't open the bonnet and set the heat sensors off...

I picked the C-V8 up today after the gearbox place refitted the sump, I wasn't sure I was going to make it back with the box not going into gear and then the car stalling when you put it in gear, so they were right to recommend it is rebuilt and I don't try and get to Germany in it. Tickover is lumpy and erratic so would have been bloody annoying in traffic. It's off to Appleyards when I get back. At least I found parts of Bristol heading back without Sat Nav that I've never seen before :)
