Re: Interceptor Convertible
Good spot frontrow thanks. Just have to hope the price isn't too stratospheric!

Re: Interceptor Convertible
In purchasing a solid convertible think buying the best possible not necessarily restored but you will possibly have to pay tomarrows price today. One additional point. Stay as far away from the need of rust repair as possible. Too many horror stories. I will leave it there. 50 years of very high end restoration experience. Patience adios my friend
Re: Interceptor Convertible
Pedrow, it took me three years to find the convertible I now have, it had been given a full restoration, presented beautifully but still needed many pounds spending on it so don't jump, rather dip your toe and be patient.
if originality is what you seek you'll probably need to wait, though if you're prepared to accept modifications away from factory spec then you might get lucky sooner - otherwise perhaps convert a left-hooker to right hand drive ? I'm not sure if this is as easy as it sounds.
original RHD cars are rare as you're finding (and no, mine's not for sale !) but they do occasionally come up if you persevere - have you tried looking on Australian websites ?
Good luck.

Re: Interceptor Convertible
Mission accomplished! Have managed to find a RHD convertible.
Andy Brooks at Appleyards was fantastic, he sourced the right car, carried out some servicing work and delivered the car to me. Have had a few drives already and I absolutely love it.
Very happy, after looking for one for some time, then realising how few there are out there and then actually landing one.

Well done Pedrow, hope it gives you as much pleasure as mine gives me. How does Andy do it?
Would anybody hazard a guess as to how many RHD convertibles are still around, either on or off the road?
