Waiting for Factory Records.

Post by Kevin Birch »

Is anybody else waiting for their factory records to be sent from Martin Robey's. Have been waiting 2 months, made 2 phone calls and still nothing. Haven't actually used them for parts yet, and probably won't if this is their customer service. They've taken my card details, but not taken any money, which raises another question as to how securely they are storing my information.
I'd go elsewhere if I could, but that's not exactly an option.

I was waiting about 4 months for an answer one year ago. I wanted the copy of my production file and Torino-keys cutted. No replies to my emails during this time.
Then Steve (nickname samsung on the forum) wanted to arrange the master key for me. But he also refused to answer after months.
Now I have renewed my request for some Torino-keys cutted like my master key...I'll see what happens...

Hello folks, just to add a positive on behalf of Robeys as you have to speak as you find. I ordered the factory records for the Mk11 I have just sold and a pair of bonnet hinge pins, both here within a week... credit were credits due. I do hope your issues are resolved soon and I am sure they will just be an honest mistake.

I suppose I was "lucky" as well, having received the factory documents from my cars within a month.
Not exactly cheap at 2 GBP per copy when you have 35 pages but no complaints either. Unique and fascinating to have such detailed information about the build and service of your car.

Cannot agree..!
I sent payment in October and got nothing for over 6x months...!

I was told they do the records in batches, when they get a 'spare' 5x minutes.
I understand the attitude for being efficient, but poor communication and being busy are not good for customer service.

Good luck, and I'll need it as I'm about to get the info for my other 2x cars.

On the other hand I asked for any records on my car one of the last ones. They had none which wasn't a surprise but then out of the blue a few weeks later 4 pages turned up. No charge. Bloody good if them I thought. No complaints from me.

I had a similar problem as mine ws allegedly the last one and they had no records, so I sent them the details I had, engine gearbox & rear axle no. which was all I had, and subsequently got a one page list of those details for which I had paid £15.00 and that was it ,not what I would call wondrous service.

CONCLUSION...?

Service varies, from poor .....to brilliant.!

I suppose it's the luck of the draw, a postcode lottery....or a quiet word by someone who can pull some strings.

Patience is a virtue as they say..!

Good luck everyone.
