New look forum
Early days I know but I have already changed to "Style 6" from "style 3" - just one little suggestion; is it possible to have some sort of line separating the various posts & topics?
The stickies seem to merge in with actual posts and while looking at the post topics, I'm finding it tricky to see which line aligns with which.....
Also, how do I tell which are "unread" posts?
Martin.

Re: New look forum
Forums / Posts you have read will have the icon next to them in white, others in the colour scheme you selected.
I have created a user guide which goes into more detail (posted as a sticky at the top of this forum).
Click here to download the guide.
Note that to read the guide you will need a PDF reader, which is available here:
http://get.adobe.com/uk/reader/
One of the people that tested the new forum commented that it would be useful to have a line separating the topics, the other testers were OK with it. I will have a look at adding a separator but it will take a while. This was supposed to be a quick change using the style provided by the company that did the style for the website, needless to say the basics worked but everything else needed lots of tweaking.

Re: New look forum
Many thanks Zac. Good to see that much of the functionality is carried over so reading the "Handbook" isn't really needed. I agree with Martin on Style 6 as preferable - white background is easier to read. I notice that the posts are showing times which are an hour ahead, even though the footer says "All times are UTC" (GMT) - maybe a function of last might's change, or do we need to change some personal setting?
(Edit: fixed: it was the "Daylight Saving Time on/off option" in personal settings )

Go to your user control panel / board preferences / edit global settings and amend the timezone as belowNormanP wrote:I notice that the posts are showing times which are an hour ahead, even though the footer says "All times are UTC" (GMT) - maybe a function of last might's change, or do we need to change some personal setting?

I just don't like it.
Dark characters on a white background were much easier on the eye than white characters on a dark background.

You can easily change back to the old style in the board preferences by setting "my board style" to prosilver.AH1951 wrote:I just don't like it.

Re: New look forum
If you have a look at the user guide you can see how to switch the colour scheme (there is a 'style'drop down at the bottom of the screen).

Re: New look forum
Does the "View unread posts" work properly? It doesn't seem to update the posts I've read. Otherwise to soon to say anything constructive, still having to readjust!

What's the meaning of the "flame" symbol next to the post on the Jensen F Type bodyshell here?
