What a pretty little towncar the Cygnet was! Not its fault that it was priced so high. Toyota could have produced that shape for about the same cost as the Aston design, instead of the plug-ugly IQ.

The logic behind producing this car in the first place is interesting.
The Cygnet enables Aston Martin to comply with the European Union–imposed fleet average emissions regulations taking effect in 2012.
So, if every Aston Martin buyer who buys a big-engined car also buys one of these little things, Aston has complied with the regulations and the bureaucrats are happy - even if the cars never leave the owner's garage.
Isn't it great to be ruled from Brussels?

I am seriously starting to think if I put mine up for sale at £35k I might be regretting it in only 6 months.....I had a friend that sold his house before the last boom he sat on the money for 9 months and he couldn't afford a similar house or his own that had nearly gone up by a third!....Crazy

I'm no financial expert, I like cars for cars sake, but I would say if you own a Jensen you don't need at present and don't need the money I would keep it and you may find one day you need it again but if you don't it should be worth a few more quid.

Much as it pains me to say it, my business head would
force me to jump ship to Aston Martin if I were spending
that kind of money. I love the Interceptor/FF, but that sort
of amount is a serious investment and I'm not sure it's justified
on an FF, however good. When the next crunch comes, a lot of
classics will be the first assets to go sadly and prices will drop
again. We seem to ride a wave of boom and bust, but rarely
manage to stay in the middle ground !.

I'm just glad I paid a tenth of that for my SP which means I have no fear of using it as a car, which is what it is firstly, a fast and wonderful one but mainly a car.

Very very true - the more valuable they become, the
more one starts to worry about it, I reckon. Insurance
would rise appreciably and along with that, the risk of
it being stolen.
