Today the postman dropped a brand new Mobilisti issue to our postbox, the Finnish old-car magazine. I have not read any articles yet, but one shows a very special car: 1973 Chrysler-Daimler FF. Yes, it has Jensen FF 4WD system with Chrysler 440 big-block engine (w/ Jensen valve covers) and TF727 gearbox.
Anybody already knowledgeable about this rarity? Only one built ever and it has been in Finland for years.. I include some photos.

I have a vague memory of this car being for sale about 8 to 10 years ago. If not there is at least one more of these somewhere, but I seem to recall Finland was mentioned.

Yes - I saw the car (and quite a few other too) at a visit to the owners collection - arranged last year by Sports Car Club Helsinki SCCH.
The car is in very good shape indeed - and if you think the enginebay of an Interceptor is crowded you should see this.

I am very curious about the LHD setup since I was always told that the development costs were too high and thus not wanted by Jensen.
I know that if you are producing a one-off prototype you may do things different than in series production but they obviously used a complete Jensen FF drivetrain and I wonder how the conversion was done.
Any information and more detail available?

Well, the car was special ordered by Swiss customer, that's why LHD. Under the Daimler's own modified front frame bars was installed a pipe profile subframe where lower control arms and steering parts were attached. The front axle components and brakes came from Jensen FF. The steering rack is FF Advest. Upper control arms were connected to Daimler's frame and Chrysler's engine mounts. The rear axle is original with Powr-Lok while axle ratio was changed to 2.88:1.
