Kerry Moore's Interceptor III

Post by zacmarshall »

Image

This is Kerry Moore's recently restored Interceptor III, at least the one in the middle is, I thought it would be a pity to chop the photo. Kerry's car has Mark Manniot's car to the left and Steve Payne's to the right.

As can be seen from the photos Kerry isn't afraid to use the car! He is also one of the Jensen Monday Club - see their website for more details of the car

Hi Zac

Thanks for posting the pictures of my car, shame the weather wasn't better.

I have sorted the technical issues on the Monday Club site you reported to me, so the info on the restoration and refitting is now available again.

Thanks John

Be nice if some actually said the car looked OK/rubbish/brilliant/awful though after all the work that went in to it!

Hi Mark. It's a shame the sun didn't come out as "reflective glory" is a good description of the paint effect when it's hit by sunlight!

Talking of reflective - shouldn't those numberplates be reflective? :) Or did it take 8 months after construction before it was registered? I'm sure a nice bright yellow rear plate would set off the paintwork a treat.

Seriously, it looked lovely. Also wet. Very wet. As indeed was I. Look forward to seeing it in better conditions one day.

What's the story with the black J E N S E N script on the tailgate of your MkIII - which models have a square badge and which have the script?

It is actually an "L" reg, but Tony Marshall told me it was kept back until "M" reg as it was a dealer demonstrator, but it wasn't kept back quite 8 months...

The black plates suit the colour better than yellow!

The badge on the rear is the one of the "C" pillar, which was also used on the MK1 I think. In chrome it was lost against the grey, but in black it stands out better.
