Irish Festival of Speed 2013

Post by Darren »

I have been speaking with the organisers and we have been offered a stand for this year, which is on the weekend of 2nd to the 4th August :D But they need to know the approximate number of cars that will be attending? click here for more details. We still need to purchase tickets to enter the show but they are on special offer until 28th Feb for early booking.
I'm banking on plenty of Irish support but it would also be nice to get some UK cars there as well, I am planning on taking the 541 across and making a weekend of it and would like a bit of company, so if your interested please reply to this topic or send me a PM.

For those of you contemplating travelling to Limerick for the IFS here are a few useful places to start planning your journey!

Irish Ferries http://www.irishferries.com/ie/index-fr-ie.asp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Stena Line http://www.stenaline.ie/ferry/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Travel time to Limerick is approx 2 1/2 hrs from Dublin, straight off the ferry, through the tunnel and motorway all the way. Travel time from Rosslare is approx 3 1/4 hrs and no motorway!

Plenty of hotels in the region, all listed here: http://www.virtualtourist.com/hotels/Eu ... G-C-1.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I would recommend:

Adare Manor, Venue of last IFS
Dunraven Arms, both of these hotels are in Adare and only 10 mins from the IFS

and in Limerick City

The Strand, secure underground parking
Marriot, parking is nearby, whatever that means!
The Clarion, parking in multistory across the road, all of these are also only 10 or 15 mins from the IFS

There are also numerous B&Bs dotted around County Limerick, but I wouldn't know where to start........

Any questions, just ask.

Just spoke to the organiser and he confirmed that there would be no concessions regarding the ticket cost, no matter how far one has to travel, so if you are coming and want to avail of the offer it would be best to buy your tickets today.
