First meeting of Paris Jensen owners

Post by hlequippe »

In the past few weeks, some french members of the JOC have started getting in touch with each other to help some of us with their resto project or discuss all things Jensen.

Yesterday, 4 owners met for the first time in Paris.

Jean Jacques Dieumegard with his Burgundy Mk2 in background (and a Mk1 in restoration)

Nigel and myself Jensens being worked on during the winter, they could not attend but we found out that 3 of the 5 cars represented were from 1972!

Note Thierry SP admirable parked the Parisian way

We talked mainly Jensen but also other cars in our ownership (Triumph, Marcos, Range Rover etc..) and our passion for various events like Goodwood Revival, Le Mans Classic, Les remparts d'Angoulème. We discussed the Jensen Nova which apparently is stil registered in France and was seen a couple of years ago in Paris. We talked about the apparently 2 CV8 that appear from time to time in various meet ups in the Paris area

We will also look into the feasibility of doing a French Jensen owners meeting some time next summer in the center of France (Burgundy or Vichy have been talked about) so that our friends from the South or the West can also attend with their cars.

A great time that will need to be done again

By coincidence I have been contacted by someone researching the history of France Motors, Jensen agents 1967-71 on Ave de Neuilly, owned by Charles Ladouch. I hope to obtain some photographs from his daughter, although she says that she has no archive material. Have any of you any information?

Maybe, next year some of you might like to join In with the JOC International in the UK, if not, how about a trip to Germany in September 2017.
Only working half a day now.

Herve - could you ask Jean Jacques how OUL 3F (115/2576) is doing in Paris? I'd love to see some pictures of the old girl as i do miss her.

Ronnie, I will send him a note

furthermore, we had retromobile last week who enabled some of us to meet two France Jensen owners that normally reside either in the West or in the South East. We are on a roll

We had yesterday a second gathering of Paris Jensen owners. with 2 cars and 4 owners at the Monthly Car and Coffee meet on the ground of "Gazoline", the french classic car magazine.

2 cars, both of them from 1972 and 4 owners including my own Int III also from 72 but undoing some winter work and a member with his 541 also undergoing some winter work.

We all hope to be able to organise a French Jensen owners meet some time this summer

Keep us informed. I expect there might be a few from here that would like to join with you on a French meeting (if you'll have us  ).

If/When you have a Jensen meeting/event in the North of France keep me informed. It is not all that far from where I live. I also travel frequently by Jensen to Soissons where my wife's sister and her husband are living.
