Looking for Interceptor specialists in North Herts

Post by Autoshinola »

Hello, newbie here, first post.

Does anyone know if there's a garage in the North Hertfordshire area that caters for fixing Jensen Interceptors? Trying to work out the nearest place from Stevenage/Baldock.

Looking to buy my first one but doing some homework first :)

Many thanks,

Rich

Welcome Richard. Doing homework before buying is a good plan.
First, I suggest you contact your nearest club area rep. Their details are on the JOC website.
Second, I wouldn't worry too much about having a local garage. If you invest in an Interceptor the additional costs of periodical visits to a specialist garage that is perhaps some distance away will not be so much of a burden and it will usually be worth it.
Third, find some group meetings and wander along and introduce yourself and ask the people there. Generally they are only too willing to help and provide advice.

Hi Richard,
I live in Cambridge and have my Mk3 interceptor looked after by Autostore, from whom I originally bought the car 3 years ago, https://www.autostore.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; who are not too far from you in Foxton, just North of Royston. The workshop manager there, Simon, can do just about anything on an interceptor and I have always found them very pleasant to deal with and very reasonable charges. They look after all my classic and modern cars.
Good luck finding a good Interceptor, they are fabulous cars and I absolutely love owning mine.
Cheers

Thanks very much Chris and Howie, very helpful! That place Autostore place look amazing and is quite close to me in Baldock. I'll certainly contact them. I've got a Citroen SM which I'd never allow a non-specialist near as they're so technologically terrifying, but I'm guessing/hoping an Interceptor is far more straightforward to deal with.

Richard, also contact Nigel McMorrin. He's in Bushey (I think) and also has a Mk1. I've sent you his email address by private message.
