Bradford Classic

Post by Darren »

Bradford Classic Weekend at Centenary square, this is the first time Ive been and its a great event with a massive foot fall being in the town centre and free. I had the 541 there and met Stephen duxbury with his lovely primrose interceptor. The theme this year was racing and there was a lot of rally cars, including a mint 6r4 and a collection of racing jaguars from the Jaguar Heritage. It also coincided with a continental market so plenty for the ladies to spend our money on :( .

Thanks Darren for posting lovely picture of my car as well as your own beautiful 541, but what you didn't tell everyone was that you got 1st prize with your car with members voting and rather nice glass trophy presented by the Lord Mayor of Bradford in all his regalia!
I got my 5 minutes of fame by being broadcast on BCB radio (Bradford Community Radio station) which was rather interesting. All in all a really good day, weather was good and warm, and loads of people to look at all the cars.

Nice to hear from you again Stephen, and to see your beautiful car in such a fantastic spot.

Well done Darren (I'm getting used to saying this!). And lets hope none of those fools in Unwanted Heat notice that you are parked outside a pub called The Ginger Goose, or I'll be suffering the inappropriate jokes for days to come.

this realy was a very good show and it would be nice to have a row of Jensens there, so I'll be campaigning next year.

Darren, we wanted a picture of YOU receiving the prize. Surely that slim handsome fellow up on the platform is one of the victorious Team GB squad?

Seems like you are due congratulations for more than one thing!

The venue of Centenary Square in Bradford city centre this year was very good, but then after the council spent something like £9m of our money on the water feature and revamping that area I would have been disappointed if it was not a nice area. Space for cars is pretty limited and not sure if organisers would take requests from people outside the Bradford district area, but would be really nice to get a few more Jensens there, I have been there 4/5 times now and normally well attended.
