NEWBY HALL CLASSIC CAR SHOW - SUN 15TH JULY
Re: NEWBY HALL CLASSIC CAR SHOW - SUN 15TH JULY
This show is CANCELLED
Re: NEWBY HALL CLASSIC CAR SHOW - SUN 15TH JULY
It’s a great pity that the Newby Hall show is cancelled but one can understand why in view of the state that the grounds would have been left in after several hundred cars had done their best to churn up the mud!
However, there is planned to be a Classic Car show at Wentworth Woodhouse near Rotherham on 2nd September. This is a new venture in a fabulous location and I have told the organisers that I will try to have a substantial Jensen presence so any local, or even more distant Members would be very welcome to join in.
Wentworth Woodhouse displays the longest Palladian frontage of any building in Europe and played host to many of the rich and famous in past decades – Royalty, Kennedys and many more. The family who owned the house included Earl Fitzwilliam, who was a founder of the Sheffield Simplex Motor Company, set up in the early part of the 20th Century to rival Rolls Royce. Very few of the cars survive, but it is hoped that at least 3 of the survivors will be present on the day.
Wentworth has magnificent grounds which have hitherto been closed to the public but are being opened up for this inaugural event.
I have few details as yet, but if you are interested, then please get in touch with me.
David
p.s. searching old postings, I note that our illustrious estate agent Barrie Warriner has some connections with Wentworth Woodhouse – come on Barrie, revisit old haunts.

Would this be on a Sunday David?
I've just checked the mileage and It doesn't seem to far away so depending on finish time we might be able to make this, pencil us in please and I'll let you know sooner the time.

Dear Mark,
Having just registered, I wondered if there is still time
to add my vehicle to your assembly of machines at Newby Hall.
The car is currently being repainted but will be fresh out of the box by
the 20th July!
Do let me know if this is possible.
Thanks & regards,
Alan Graham

Hi Alan
This is an old post.
This year it's on Sunday the 21st.
So you will have a day to get it ready.
The pie mans calling at mine tonight so I will mention it to him.
I think there are some spaces but the cut may have past.
See you there all being well.
Thanks Brendan
