Fitting Edelbrock alloy heads

Post by Per »

All, I have tried contacting Edelbrock but no luck yet.

Fitting instructions say "Apply a continuous 1/8" bead of RTV sealer to end sealing surfaces on block and ....." Does that mean around the periphery of each cylinder row of four cylinders?

Reply from Edelbrock just came in. It is the wall between cylinder rows, one in fron and one at the rear.

Hi Per,
do they mean the 10mm wide zone where block/head gasket/head/intake and valley pan/are meeting?
That’s a typical RTV application zone. In the attached mock-up the valley pan is still missing :D
Engine is now running leak proof.

Hi Roh,
Yes - these are 440source stealth heads. You may see the logo if you zoom into the picture and check the runner to cyl 7 inlet valve.

The RTV is applied AFTER head to block installation during intake/valley pan installation.
