My guess would be.... that engine hasn’t run in a long time.

But you may prove me wrong... did Tom drive it to the shop for engine removal?

Just a guess , but it looks to me it has had a small end failure which has punched the con rod through the piston top and jammed up on the bore then the other piston has taken an almighty whack bending the con rod .

The pallet's reusable...

Hi guys been busy trying to get some work so just catching up . My engine story I have not driven the car it was running fine when brought into work shop the following day the mechanics tried starting it they resorted to pouring fuel into the carburettor the engine revved up unable to shut it off loud bang and then went to tick over with what sounded like a bent push rod . Engine removed and left at back of work shop for 30 years. Strip down revealed bent con-rod water damage and the pistons where jammed so damage to pistons was me Stripping down engine opps . Hopefully Dave can work his magic. Meanwhile rest of car looking great just getting engine bay ready can anybody recommend the best black under seal for engine bay ?
