Hi , my first post and First Jensen Interceptor MK111 1973
I had water leaking from the left hand cylinder head, I therefore removed both heads and found it was leaking between the center cylinders and a water way therefore I presume the head is warped and needs skimming / refurb on both heads and skimming of the inlet manifold.
I noticed you can buy new aluminium heads from Martin Robey , what are the gains of going from cast heads to aluminium heads besides the weight, is it more power / cheaper to run / better heat dissipation ?
while I am at this stage is there anything else mods wise that can be done ,
the engine is fitted with EdelBrock inlet manifold and Holley carb with electric choke, standard exhaust manifolds, it has also been bored to +60 and new shells fitted about 5000 miles ago by the previous owner.
Cheers

Re: cylinder heads 440
A good engineering workshop will check the heads for warping. If there is no warping your repair maybe as simple as just replacing the gaskets.

Re: cylinder heads 440
Modify your new head gaskets before you fit them, this is an easy mod to do and it allows more water to flow through to the heads so the engine will run a bit cooler.
