I can imagine it aging, corroding inside, expanding a bit, but not looking too bad, then the glass popping out of the rings at the worst moment. Probably in 8 years time, that one day when you let someone else drive the car, and they don't realise. Oh, a bit of smoke, it's gone now. Must be OK.
