1:5 or 1:6 ratio rockers?
1:5 or 1:6 ratio rockers?
Which would people suggest? I was going to order 1:5’s but as the cam I’m using is apparently very mild (Lift @ valve 509in, 528ex. Duration 222in, 230ex @ .050) for my 493ci stroker build, I thought the extra lift from 1:6’s might be a good idea. FWIW that was Hughes Engines suggestion too, given that I’m stuck with this cam for the time being at least.

I have 1.6, they do sharpen the engine up nicely when you are you are using a mild cam.

I think that settles it, 1:6 it is. The cam I've got is a bit of an error as I ordered it before I decided to go for a stroked engine.

I just spotted that Hughes do their rockers in 1:7, or is that just silly with the cam I’ve got?

Clearance might be a problem depending on your pistons.
I know on the 1.6 the leaflet that came with them reckoned I would need pistons with valve cut outs depending on the cam I was using.
More is not always better.
