383 overhaul

Thanks for info on my 383 thread. Now having cleaned up the heads revels the tappet cover contact area rough as a bear's
Back end my immediate thoughts are it requires machining flat or will get leaks but did I read somewhere they were they
Produced like that with the rough casting not machine finished. ??
My felpro gasket set has three different sets of eight valve seals l will fit large umbrella to Inlets but what to fit to
Exhaust ? Can't think of reason to fit any to the exhaust they don't suck oil !
Fitting new cam. ES 327. Said to be replacement for original, contacted ENGINE TECH. For the valve springs to go with it
But don't have a match listed !
