What colour should the block be painted??

Post by regb2004 »

While my engine is apart, we have the opportunity to paint the block. The garage seem to think it was BLUE originally...?? Really?? Any ideas?

You will love it, but when the engine is again installed in the engine bay you do not see too much of it

I have posted this before. I think that it adds some colour to the engine bay.

I have been restoring production and hand made cars full time since 1972. Just because Jensen initially Painted the engine black does not mean all engines were painted Black My 74 Drophead all original non restored when I pulled the motor It was blue in color. Possibly at some time the parent company decided to stop the expense of painting the motor Black. This change in policy occurs in all makes somewhere. It occurs in assembly with hardware etc. they do not stop production so the original used hardware is kept the same. The factory gets a substitute and keeps on assembling. The idea to repaint the Chrysler orange or blue color to black was changed or dropped. RacerJoe
