surviving Mk1s
Re: surviving Mk1s
Steve,
For some reason when opening the list of survivors I get a message "stopped due to long running script" meaning that I can't get long enough down the list to check whether the car already is on the list but;
MK I 115/2574 is alive and well
I recently had this confirmed by a friend having assited the owner with a fuel supply problem. He also provided me with a copy of the cars vintage-car registration holding all technical details.
Not personally having met or spoken with the owner I cannot reveal other that that the car definately exist and is in very good order.

Stig, you can get that error if you are using Internet Explorer. Try Firefox or Chrome instead.
115/2574 is NOT on the list.
Steve Hickey doesn't need very much details, certainly no personal details. Simply Chassis Number, possibly engine number. A picture would be nice, even a picture that does not reveal the registration or location would be nice but it's not essential. Try to get more information and send it to Steve.

Thanks Stig
your word is good enough for me I will create a page in the near future. Chris is right that is enough to claim a new survivor, but I would welcome some more information and a photo or two. Perhaps you could get your friend to point him towards the website.
Thanks again

The seller unfortunately wouldn't disclose the chassis number.RAP72 wrote:I am hoping that someone will identify the car felixkk highlighted as for sale in Morges.

Re: surviving Mk1s
The silver Int1 that was for sale in Morges/Switzerland on the 1st of October 2016 finally is identified. It is 115/3482, so we have a new survivor! I've just emailed Steve the details we've collected.

Thank to those who have sent me information recently. I have now mangaged to get to the computer and do the updates. If I have not included yours I apologies: but a combination of the study becoming a glorified box room whilst the house was painted and a store facility for grandchildrens Christmas presents coupled with a major dose of apathy has now been partially overcome. So if your info has not been added please remind me.
Re: surviving Mk1s
A new survivor. Although it looks like it will be a few days before it is on the road
We are now at 319. Well 315 identified plus 4 Unknown.

Re: surviving Mk1s
Hi Steve,
On the list 115/3529 is in black without information. I thought I had informed you my car came (years ago) with various spares from 3529, seats / bench / tailgate / doorpanels and other interior panels (many with 3529 written on them). Also many mechanical spares, steering rack, dynamo, starter motor, rear axle, rear Armstrong dampers, dashboard instruments and centre panel with switches, grille, lamps, wheels, etc etc. It looked as if these all came from one car - 3529. I also discovered the chassis plate from 3529.
I think we can safely assume 3529 has been scrapped

now updated to show as 115/3529 scrapped and that brings the survivors back to 318.

Re: surviving Mk1s
And right next to a completely genuine GT40! What a coincidence!
"Now that chassis number is particularly interesting ‘cos it’s the one after the one before, which is the one after mine, not many people know that"

Re: surviving Mk1s
Excellent that this car is now a candidate for restoration - 10 years ago it would have been stripped for parts. I hope a rich and optimistic buyer is found to bring it back to life.
