surviving Mk1s
Seba and Taximan thanks for the link to the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu. I contacted them and they confirmed the Chassis number as 115/3256. Jonathan Day [their Picture Library Manager] also gave me a link to photos of all their cars. Should you wish to see the site is www.motoringpicturelibrary.com .
It also seems like it might be worth a visit for those with children as between 19th to 27th February 2011 "“ half-term week, young visitors to the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu can go undercover, taking part in a Secret Agent Trail. Test your knowledge on the world’s most famous Special Agent, James Bond, in the attraction’s popular James Bond Experience, then learn about the training of Secret Agents on the Beaulieu Estate during WWll in the Secret Army Exhibition. Follow the trail to crack the code and enter a free daily draw for a ride in a WWll Jeep from the National Motor Museum collection. http://www.beaulieuevents.co.uk/

Hi Steve,
I am sorry to relay the sad news of another deceased Mk1, no not mine thankfully.
115 / 2911 PDV 776 G.
This car was not too far from me so was able to visit and pay my respects, and also collect a few Donar spares ( Thanks to a helpful guy called Dan )
I have photos but do not know how to add them to the Forum
Cheers,
John

sorry to hear the sad news.of 115/2911.......but it is now listed as scrapped and the photos are there for posterity- or anyone else.
I added your 2 photos to 115/2584.
for those following the list also added are:-
2659 as advised by Per (FF053)
3336 Justin's Car 2 more photos to the album
yesterday Paul Vierhout (Dorset Cars) gave me 3 more
117/2609, listed as being for scrap
a white one for which he is forwarding the chassis number and he is repairing.
a blue one which I have added under SCV 768G and is, I believe, for sale.
so the list grows to about 170-175 - does anyone recognise those at the bottom without chassis numbers and if so can they advise.
surely there cannot be many more
Thanks to all who have helped and contributed.

I used to own a maroon mk1 back in the 80's (I was 18!)
The car ended up with a wholesaler in Bagshot, Surrey. I don't think it was re registered after that.
Sorry, don't know the serial number, TH 0727 registration.
Thank you John Stead where ever you are for getting it running!

Is this the correct location of this lever on a genuine LHD car?

If the chassis number is 115 I suggest that it was built as a right hand Drive; 117 being left hand drives.
Hmmmm.... it seems there are quite a few Jensens in Sweden with odd chassisnumbers (ahum..) perhaps people were trying to avoid taxes and import duties?

I think Robert had said on an earlier post that this car had been converted from RHD.
I've had a look in the all the books I have and the only interior shot of a LHD Interceptor mk 1 I can find is in Jensen all the models. I think I can make out the lever on the left hand side as you would expect. That was on a Vignale / Sincar built car though rather than a Jensen finished car.
I know of a couple of people with LHD Interceptor 1s so will ask them, unless Tony Marshall can remember?

Surviving Mk1's
Reading your post with great interest and congratulate you on your findings, i can shed light on two more Mk1's for you, 115/3215 is safely in my workshop and has been now for 15 years sadly getting pushed down my list of priorities, she is however totally complete and in superbly solid condition so can be described as a 'surviving Mk1' chassis number 115/3231 unfortunately is a different story, was bought by me around 6 years ago as a basket case and it sadly lived up to that description taking its final trip to the big Kelvin way carpark in the sky some 3 years ago. Hope this info will help.

Thanks Interjen but the work is a collation of loads of peoples lists. I am constantly surprised by the interest this is generating.
I have added your info to the list and, because so many scrapped cars are being advised, I have left the chassis number but taken the index number away leaving 165 as noted by Chassis Number and 10 by Registration number. If you send some info and Photos I can start a page and album for 3215.
