I'm never sure if cars at a show count as being "on the road." Still, here are some from the Long Island Jaguar and MG clubs show at the Vanderbilt estate.

maybe they went sideways when faced with a corner.
the RN always called the RAF crabs but that was because the RAF always walked sideways with their backs to the wall when the RN were around.

Always liked these.
Nearly bought one but the car dealer vendor was clearly full of it... so I walked away... and bought a mk1 Golf instead. Not one of my wiser moves.

Re: Classic cars on the road
It was quite weird on Saturday as I had just been reading about the Riley Pathfinder hours before I came across one of them later on in the day. These look a lot like the Lancia Aurelia. Did any of the coachworks ever make a coupe version of the Pathfinder?
Also note how much nicer the Pathfinder looks with 16" wheels in comparison to the Wolseley 6/90 on 15" rims. It certainly has me wondering what a C-V8 might look like with 16" factory style steel rims.

Re: Classic cars on the road
It's not just the wheel size. The Wolseley was given an extra flared sill section under the doors, to make it look more staid and respectable than the Riley. A subtle difference that you might never notice until you saw the two together.

Re: Classic cars on the road
I see what you mean. On the Wolseley the flared section runs all the way from the front to to the rear bumper, passing over both wheel arches in the process. The flared section is not a good look at all.

Never knew that. It explains why I always found the Riley the more impressing car.VFK44 wrote:It's not just the wheel size. Lots of old cars on the road today, not sure why. Including two old police cars, a beetle and a volvo. These two were standing in front of a garage.
