I think Herve's pretty rare comment is rather understated, only 351 examples made and now hitting 7 figure sums. Fantastic looking car though, who'd have thought a million pound Toyota!!!

The Chinese are at it now. Have you heard of the Land Wind? A copy of the Range Rover Evoque.

Apparently to do business in China you have to agree to involve a Chinese investor (fair enough) and to 'share' technology (not so fair enough).

This morning I was invited to attend a dream for all of us car nuts : The reveal of a car hidden in a barn since 1982.

I 1982, Grand Pa parked his car for the last time and passed away soon after. his son did not car at all about the cars. The grand sons, one of them born in 1977 and the other one in 1984 had not seen the car before 2011 !! Once they discovered the car, they kept bugging their father to start a restoration process. Very recently, the father passed away too and after the shock they decided to start on the car. I as invited by my friend to help and too some pictures along the process.

So here we are, a 1967 Maserati Ghibli 4700 cc. Engine is strangely enough still moving freely (obviously we did not start it). Brakes were seized so we removed the calipers. The 4 XWX tyre were reinflated and keep their air. Body is not corroded (except an angle of the boot door) and there are some bubbles in a door skin. there is some surface rust on the chassis. color is just incredible. Leather and interior are still in very good shape.
Now the car is going to be lifted up and inspected to detect any rot on the chassis and repair accordingly. As the 4th pic show, the paint is incredible condition and will not be restored.

Car will ned new brakes (disks, hoses and calipers) new exhaust, all the carbs, fuel pump and all rubber will have to be changed before thinking about starting the engine (cannot wait to hear it)

Probably a year to 18 moths of work but definitely worth it.

Interestingly, Grad dad had bought the Ghibli and sold back to the dealer his Ferrari 275 GTB back then. A guy of nice tastes.

If cars could talk, she was definitely happy to se the light again

There was actually an interesting article in Aviation Week regarding this policy as it relates to Commercial Aviation. Because of this policy of usurping the technology, none of the western countries is willing to provide the latest tech to the Chinese (COMAC) organizations. The Chinese have been trying to make commercial aviation a "flower" of their industry for 50 years - instead, their latest offerings in commercial aviation are woefully behind schedule, and can not keep pace with the current modern worldwide fleet. It was an interesting discussion.

hlequipe what a fantastic car and story,, you can stick the modern interprtation of a supercar for me just look at this its beautiful the bright work detailing door frames etc is done very similar to a Jensen, i keep us updated please,,

My opinion of the most beautiful car in the world. It’s odd to think that this car was originally made in 1966 which is only one year after my CV8.

There would have been a nice C-V8 there but I had to cancel my ticket and do a ‘family related thing’ again
