You're quite right Steve.
The above was taken from another thread where I bemoaned the lack of Jensens
and classic cars on the road. Thinking about it I see quite a few interesting cars
around so I thought I'd stop and take a few photos and let you know as and when.
Anyone can join in.

This was in The car park of the St Ermine's Hotel.
Nothing really special until you look inside.
A delightfully over the top period piece, a LWB Rolls Silver Shadow.
Get the white leather dash board and telephone in the back.
Very reminiscent of The Power Game on TV.

i always thought rroyce should have bought jensen when they were in crisis, as i reckoned near enough a jensen was sort off the type off car rroyce could have offered as a sport,s luxury gt vehicle along side the shadow,s etc ?????

I had thought that RR should have bought Aston Martin and made the Bentley into the 1960?s/70?s
saloon/coupe that it should have been.
Instead they let Bentley languish until the turbo engine came along.

If they?d bought Jensen - imagine a 6.75 litre turbo-charged Interceptor.
Maybe the dashboard would have looked like this:


( But hopefully they'd have got the steering wheel on the right side...... )

that must be an early turbo, my 98 turbo r/t/ and continental T pulls 2,500 rpm at 100 mph superb cruisers,

Agreed.
However.
The car is at full boost, fighting against the torque converter, whilst going up a very steep
hill on the North Downs . When I got on to the crest of the hill and levelled off the car went
foooooorward so quickly and unexpectedly I thought it best to put my camera down.

How times have changed. If I want to change from hot air to cool I have to lift the bonnet and close a tap.

Yup! And I used to aspire to one.
No wonder the roads are so crowded nowadays.

And if you thought that was bad look at this.
The Rolls Silver Shadow used to be huuuge.
Now it?s dwarfed by the 3 series BMW behind and the Mercedes MPV in front.


Finally, and slightly off-patch, I saw this Merc 300 cabriolet c.1957 on the Moselle in Luxembourg.

Sorry the pictures not so good but my hands were otherwise occupied.

Not bad for a week?s watching.
