That TVR looks totally brilliant Grant! Custard Yellow with Rhubarb interior! Couldn't be anyone else's could it? So Cool and so you! What a star! What's not to like about it though? I never bought a new car, but that could have been an exception! I had a 1992 pre cat Griffith that was fantastic blast.

I have always fancied finding a neglected/blown up/rusty 4.2 to add to my collection, but the prices were crazy last time I looked. Your example is too perfect to use!

Very nice Rocky. Great colour. Those nice vents on the wings. Anything to do with you by any chance?
Unfortunately, the picture of my TVR at the factory with my gorgeous ex wife in the passenger seat seems to have been cut into tiny pieces and all of them have became lost somehow :? Here is a picture of Mum in the car after she gave it a good run. She always gave them a good run. "Oh I can feel the back end, it reminds me of my Mk 2 (Jaguar). Oh don't worry luv it's not going anywhere with those big tyres on it.". I did worry but all was OK.

Grant, that's a serious thing to buy and forget about! Did you simply not wish to drive it or was it a planned "collectors car"?

When I had my TVR Chimera, I had an elderly aunt visiting my parents, so I went along to meet up.
She was aged around 86 at the time.
She wanted to get a new battery for her watch, so my mum asked me to run her to Castle Donington (about 5 miles from where my parents lived) where the nearest watch shop was.
We jumped into the Chimera, were about to set off when my aunt asked "is this a convertible?" I said it was, then she asked me to take down roof.
I asked "aren't you worried about your hair?" (it was all nicely done) and she replied "I'm too old to be worried about my hair!"
She loved every second and asked me to put my foot down a bit too.
RIP Aunty Mollie. She died at well over 90.

I am sure I have seen that registration number on a TVR in the late 1990s!

I really fancy a Chim, but not sure I'd fit one in my single awkwardly accessed garage.
And, at about twice the price of an S, I'm not sure I'd enjoy one twice as much...

This TVR Chimp sold at Brightwells for a touch under 7000. There is a video of it being driven. Seems to sound OK.

Well, yes, It's a long story really Mart, it was a basically a company car when we had a building company, we all had a chance of getting a company car, I was in middle of getting a Convert Interceptor and that fell through, I then opted for the fastest car available at the time and it was the TVR,..I had never had a brand new car ever before Mart, when it was delivered from Blackpool TVR factory it smelt of fibreglass, I only ever really like old things and so I never took to it, I have to love my stuff to be interested in it, if not I never really have the passion for them, and this is one example of that scenario. :( ..Terrible really, there is more to the story but that's the bottom line MartMan

I sold it back to the dealer in the mid to late 90's, having owned it for a couple of years and covered 25,000 miles.
I received £24,000 for it having originally paid £28,000 which is the least depreciating new car I've ever owned.
Someone in the Moseley area of Birmingham bought it from the dealer but I don't know where it went after that.
The number still existed a couple of years ago, but it showed as being on a blue, 4.3 litre TVR.
I guess it's possible my car was re-sprayed and possibly a larger engine fitted.
The number no longer appears on the DVLA web site. :(

Hopefully, it'll be worth zillions as possibly the only delivery milage car in existence!

Saw this in Gibraltar at the weekend. Not sure what the van is. It had an “m” in the centre of its hub caps so I’m guessing Morris. Also a Mk1 Golf behind it.

That would be a Morris J2, as used by Royal Mail and GPO telephones in the 1950s. Also featured as Mr Magpie's van in Doctor Who 15 years ago!
