Saw this today - I don't think I've seem one of these in the flesh - outrageous. Taking up 2 spaces .... Must belong to the same person as the Ferarri 412 I posted a few months ago. Same parking spot in a blue chip area.

With wife in the car who's not very fond of the C-V8.
With a sulking pre-teenage daughter but already acting like a teenager (12).
With the two continuously wrestling boys (8 and 10), one of which is doesn't have a very stable stomach.
Everybody in their dirty hiking boots.

Spent all afternoon Saturday machine polishing the car- first time with a machine- a bit nervous. Came out well. Barely finished I had to pick up the boys plus two others from boy scouts- where there was a guy with an '88 Maserati, who said: you know that you can get your chips (there are dozens, some major) in the paint touched up...
That’s a lot of people in a C-V8!

I have a growing number of chips and I’m proud of every one of them. There wouldn’t be any if you didn’t drive it like it was meant to be driven. 8)

Quite right. At least I have one nice door now- freshly resprayed- because I backed out of our parking space with the door open and forgot about the the concrete column... grrr

The paint shop did a superb job matching the 70s paint... photos are very forgiving in some respects, but not others! All adds to the character of the car

PS it looks better after I polished the rest of the car

I'd be tempted to say "you know that you can get your dents beaten out?" What dents?? "Oh, just give me a few minutes...!"

Had a nice chat with the fortunate owner of this lovely Lotus at Tesco this morning before then seeing the very pretty MG there too.

Chevrolets from that era are amongst my favourites. In the late '40's and early '50's Chevrolet produced their best looking cars in my view.

I was going to add that some "experts" including the late Alan Clark MP consider that early 50s Chevy's were among the finest cars available. Depends on your criteria of course.

Felixkk,
I need to come and live in Switzerland, those two Citroens are such good looking cars, the DS was on my list when looking for an Interceptor, and the SM has always been on my dream list. When I was a stripling, my best friend's dad worked at a local Citroen garage and one day he turned up at school to pick him up in an SM, I was also allowed a lift home in this spaceship and have never forgotten, I was about 9 at the time. The amazing thing was I grew up in a rather poor and deprived area of Birmingham, my dad had some good cars as he was a self employed mechanic and used to deal too, but most kids in the junior school I went to didn't have a car, so to see this was a fantastic event in the area. Both me and my mate were everyone's best friend for a long time after.
Childhood memories, makes us what we are. :)
