Spotted a White Mk1 Cortina GT on the M25 this morning.

No time to take a pic unfortunately as it was going at a fair rate of knots on the opposite carriageway.

Looked immaculate. I do have a penchant for old Fords.

It's pains me to say that my plans to get our car out today in the sunshine was take away from me as I has to go to work.
Then to have salt rubbed into it at 4.15 pm on the out side lane, on the M25, best place for these cars, around Rickmansworth, was a red Interceptor flying past PGC --- K. In RED, That was all of the car I saw. Who was it?
I wished I was out in ours. :(

We've been out in the JH on and off all day, the Volve hasn't moved off the drive. I had waves from a Frogeye sprite and two Morris Minor convertibles.

Still no Jensens.
Where are you all?
But this was lovely to see.

Although this isn't a classic it's still interesting and also a previous subject of a Forum posting.
I think it's lovely!

Also what happened to these?
Are they classics? Ask Glaffy

Once they were a daily sight now they are almost as rare as Jensens

This one seems to be in regular use.
Odd looking bumpers tho'

I like the Rolls-Royce too, although it hovers on the edge of bad taste.

But for doors I prefer the Lambo style opening:

Also seems surprisingly cheap and easy to do - for a Smart roadster anyway.

Barrie, you had your birthday but you're not that old.

You are still able to enter a car the conventional way, aren't you?

Well, actually no.
I've been working on a variation of this for the CV-8

Seriously though, rear hinged front opening doors are really convenient.
Instead of the usual front hinged doors where, once having parked your bottom on the seat
you then have to negotiate your legs around the door - with a rear hinger your entrance is a lot easier.
Try it sometime.
Looks more elegant too.
As for the 'Smart' copy of the Lambo it looks like a receipe for banging your nut! ( NB this piece of slang is singular and not plural )

have used mine quite extensively recently - gave it an 'Italian Tune Up' on a clear straight dual carriageway on Friday which seems to have increased my oil pressure too...
back to the subject in hand - I adore the RR - its everything such a car should be with fantastic prescence.
Exchanging waves with me this w/e was a guy in a really nice stack headlight Merc, a nice MG-B and a wave from a guy on a Royal Enfield bike.
