That C-V8 does look very good in all of the rest of the traffic. Dreary nasty miserable weather here. Happy holidays nonetheless!

Nice one John :P
And here is another Mk1 Escort than I know, it is a very Rare Mk1 Super-Speed Escort, it was delivered from Ford originally as a TwinCam and then converted into a SuperSpeed fitted with the Essex V6 and then sold from the showroom still with the Ford Warranty, I know the Man that bought it new for £1495.00 in 1970, it sold last week within 2 days of advertising for £70K

What's an escort twin cam worth these days, more or less than £70K ? Might have been better leaving it as a twinky. Good looking cars though, Mk1 Escorts, had a base 1100 after buying my flat, and having to put the Lotus Cortina in the garage, as I couldn't afford to run it. :(

Well, probably about the same money Kev, but I know which one I would wantImage the one above^^^ KevImage, there are still 2 V6 Superspeeds left apart from this earlier one, but the other 2 are the later Mk1's that came after the Twink,(known as just Lotus Escorts rather than Twink) this above is the only Twink/Super speed left, but the later 2 had the ZF 5 speed box and ZF LSD fitted, I got into them after seeing an ad probably 30odd years ago in the exchange and mart, it read"Escort Mk1 3litre, ZF 5 Speed box ZF Diff, built by Ford, £3000ono, I'll never forget it, it caught my eye as I always had 3.0litre V6 Capris and always fancied one in an Escort, and I now know the present owner of the S/Speed Escort from the Ad Kev.. how strange is that!!.. Here's a pic of one of the later ones here below , Funny enough Kev, Superspeed also done the same to some of the Twink Lotus Mk2 Cortina's like your one, but they were doing them before Jeff Uren did (savage). I have a friend who has 2 of them, we know him as ..... Wait... Superspeed Pete  .. But they do need restoring, well one does and the other is sort of Ok still, here is a Pic of a press one Kev

I had a friend in the RAF who put a 2.8 out of a Granada in an Escort. Went like the prevbial 5h1t off a shovel but sadly ended up in a field as the brakes were not up to the job. He did get it recovered but was recked. I wonder what happened to it as it sat in that car park for years.

Interesting stuff grant, cheers. Reading between the lines, are you sure its not you with one of the Escorts needing restoration, hidden in a little nook or cranny in your garage, behind the steering wheels?

Not on the road in fact, but worth showing I thought. Spotted this Interceptor in Largs Bay (Adelaide) while traveling in Oz on my way to visit Luke Caldwell Nov. 14:

Interesting blue 1955 Ford! Not sold like that in the USA. Was it built that way by Ford there? :)

Took my Interceptor out around the South Devon coast today.

Plenty of classics around inc. E-Type & Morgan.

Managed to snap this Rapier whilst walking
