Road Tax increase for classics?

Post by stevewarbs »

I know the general subject has been raised before, but I have just seen in the Sunday times that it says pre 2001 cars will pay a flat fee of xxx£210.

As my tax is due this month, it'll be interesting to see what they want from me for my 1974 MkIII. Mind you what goes on the form they send you might not be what you end up paying!!!

Up the revolution!!

This might help. it looks like eveything registered before 2001 is OK and is xxx£185.

Have a look wht it costs to tax a new car that produces more than 225gm of carbon.

Good idea about the MK1 Escort Colin but have you seen the price of Tax Exempt stuff on Ebay? There is a MK1 Escort on there at the moment for xxx£10,000.

I know Road Tax is a pain in the A*%$ but with fuel at xxx£100 a tankfull it is just another expense to keep our cars on the road.
