Addresses for technical help in Europe & Uk

Post by kees »

I have started an excel document with a list of names, addresses, telephone, mobile, e-mail, website, types catered for, business/private, service/parts/info etc.
So now it is down to the input of the forum members!!!
Please let me know the places and people that can help out a stranded person with a Jensen with actual repair service, parts or information.

This is Felix's idea.

Excellent idea. Something similar is provided by many other clubs.
Ideally it should be an online-available list / sheet, accessible for JOC members only.

That may prove to be problematic because of privacy issues. It can be done I think through one or two contact persons.

It should be available to all Jensen owners, not only JOC members.

There is no issue if people give permission.

I would not mind having my details in the list provided it would be behind the "members only" part of the web site / forum.

Hi Kees

Excellent! We'll forward you the contacts we have in Germany, Austria, Switzerland. Those contacts would be primarily the clubs, parts suppliers and garages...? The clubs could maybe put the list on their website?

I'm not sure how to deal with emergencies outside working hours, as was the case with Richard/Jakob though? Contacts of helpful (+ well stocked) individuals via contact through the club(s) rather than listing them?

Dion, The idea is to help out any Jensen owner, JOC member or not. There are several other Jensen Clubs to think of as well.
E.g. I am not a member of the JOC but of the Dutch HJGH which is separate from the JOC unlike JOC sections in some other countries. I think the Swiss have their own separate club as well. If you would provide the info in the members only section of the forum or website members of these clubs would have no access.
I think I can circumnavigate this privacy business by keeping the list with only a limited number of people who can be contacted if needed. These people can than supply the details of the person or company that may be able to help out.
Any other solutions/suggestions??
I do now have several addresses in the UK and NL, both businesses, and private people. However to make this list to be of any use I need more input from businesses and private people who are able to help out with repair services, parts or advice/info, especially also the people with specific model knowledge, registrars.

For non members it a good idea. But for members there is already a list of names that you can contact for technical help in the JOC Magazine.... Which I'm sure would also do as you mentioned..
Surprised Chris didn't mention this in his reply.

That list most likely is not complete or up to date for Europe and it would not mention many if any of the individuals that can provide info, parts or assistance.
Another group of people that is probably not on the list are the registrars/technical advisors in Europe of the various models. These are essential as they may provide info for trusted local repair shops.

Colin, could you provide me with that list please? Up to only a few weeks ago I could view the old JOC-magazines on the site but now it is for JOC members only, so I do not have access to that list.
When I have the names I can check them out to see if they are up to date.
The list is slowly coming together, so far mainly UK addresses but also some in Europe.

Jens, you are added to the list. Not much respons from mainland Europe. There certainly are others in Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark but they have not come forward yet. I may have to approach those that I know of personally.
It is not only about repair businesses but also individual private people who can supply knowledge/info and/or parts or other support like emergency repairs. So far only a handful of UK Jensen owners have reacted.
So far 15 confirmed addresses and a few others that I have to ask their permission to be added to the list. Most of them are UK addresses though and we do want a more European list.
