MK 2 + a Few Mods

Post by rwilson1 »

My restoration is at last picking up speed having been caught up in the Pale Classics insolvency.

Better brakes really require bigger rims to fit them, tho obviously you can play with pads on the standard brakes.

I was a relatively early purchaser of the big brake conversion Hi Spec developed (back in the late 2000's) using the 17in lookalike rims. 6 pot calipers, bigger vented disks, EBC ? pads.

My convertibles standard brakes were good. The upgrade made them like a modern cars IMHO. In my case Hauser Racing had built up the engine before I bought it so it has a few more horses and torques to manage.
