Original Registrations plate
I see the original plate for my Mark 1 Interceptor is on a 1999 Land Rover. Any ideas how I can find out who the owner is / contact them? DVLA cannot help.

Unfortunately not. Data protection regulations mean that personal information cannot be given out.
However, being a Land Rover it is possible the owner might be on one of the Land Rover forums or Facebook groups. You could try finding all of those and then joining them all and asking around if anyone knows the number. It'll be a long shot but might yield a result, There's less than 5,000 Land Rovers (of all types including Range Rover) that were registered in 1999 still around.

What a great suggestion - thanks very much !
Re: Original Registrations plate
If you tell us the registration number and Jensen in question we might know the car and it's mileage, when it lost its number etc. A good percentage of us have Land Rover group cars!
Have you seen our stolen Jensen FF 119/011 https://twitter.com/jensenffdotcom

Thanks - it’s STN 34F. Jensen Interceptor Mark 1. Do you need anything else?

Hi Guy
As you know, your car is Chassis No 115/2658
Original Reg No was 2222 SR
Ex Factory 04.12.67 but i believe the car was first registered in January 1968
The previous owner to you was i believe Keith(no second name on my records) who owned the car from 2008 and restored the car in 2008/9
I believe the car had 3 Previous Owners and was stored from 1998 to 2008, when i believe Keith purchased the car
I believe that you can purchase certain information from the DVLA for about £10 , but not sure if this will help
I assume Land Rover have a club and you may be able to submit a question on their Webpage
Kind regards

Re: Original Registrations plate
Hello Jim and thanks for this.
How do you know the car was stored for 10 years from 1998-2008?
Also what information can I buy from DVLA for £10? I wrote to them and they said they couldn’t give me the owner’s details.
I have contacted two Land Rover forums and also some Facebook ones but nothing yet.
Really appreciate your help.
Best

Re: Original Registrations plate
Hi Guy
I have picked up the 10 Year Storage period 1998 to 2008 from previous adverts articles or notes from a previous owner
There appear to be a couple of web pages where you can obtain some further information on your car, but i have not used any personally
I believe the DVLA offered limited further information, but in tracking Registration Numbers i have used find car by registration number on the internet and they offer further information for a small payment
Unfortunately i cannot recommend either way and Data Protection may limit what you can find
I note that your car had 3 previous owners (prior to Keith ?)
If you have any additional information on your car, i may be able to link it to information that i hold, which i have not yet been able to link to a specific chassis number
I have just been able to do the same this morning on another car through a PM
Kind regards
Jim Smith

Hi Guy
Apologies for the delay in responding - i missed your reply
If you have the names of anyof the previous owners, it may link to early information on your car that i have not been able to link to the specific chassis number
Also if there were any other registration numbers on the car between 2222 SR and STN 34 F
Kind regards

Re: Original Registrations plate
Wow thanks Jim - here goes:
Owners in order- ARD Garages (Newport) sold to Mr H Ringham (1967) and who lived in Newport, Monmouthshire
He then sold to Andrew Parkes Performance cars then to Mr T Fenwick.
David James (Chester Le Street) purchased in 2006 and sold to Keith Flint (Dipton, Stanley) in 2008.
Original plate was 2222 SR.
In 1972, the registration was noted as LDW 943F.
In 1978 it was noted as TF 66.
In 1992 Mr T Fenwick (Gateshead) transferred from TF66 to STN 34F
Hope that makes sense and is helpful
Thanks
Guy
