I recently noticed the British cars now have a UK instead of a GB sticker/sign on the car. What was the idea behind that?
Some people think the cars are from Ukraine.

Re: UK versus GB
According to many website sources here is the reason.
What about driving abroad with a ‘GB’ number plate or sticker?
You now have to use a 'UK' identifier when driving your car outside of the UK (but not in Ireland), because the government has decided to ditch the GB identifier after 111 years.
If you have a GB sticker on your car or the GB initials on your number plate you'll need to get a UK sticker.
Halfords told the BBC that some countries may refuse entry if your car is not displaying the correct identifier.

Re: UK versus GB
We are "The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland", so for years we have not been representing Northern Ireland (which did not exist 111 years ago) by using just GB.
Post Brexit, the UK government had upset Northern Ireland in many ways and was looking for a cheap and easy way to apologize. Changing the sticker on the back of our cars fulfilled that aim.

Re: UK versus GB
Yup, completely solved that problem. Not expecting any more problems with Ireland, ever.
