Brave man!
Am just looking at 30463 which I now see has an extra ammeter. Looks a standard fitment (being a late GT) but could also have been fitted later I guess.

The Ammeter and the Vacuum gauge are later additions. Get rid of the Ammeter as it is a potential fire risk. Replace it with e.g. an Oil temperature gauge or Outside temperature gauge for usefulness. Smiths made these gauges suiting the rest of the instruments.

At least the car's getting a good blast. Well done!

Makes you think though. A big torquey engine like that is pulling nearly 5000 RPM at just over 100 MPH. Wow!

My Astra is pulling just over 2500 RPM at 100 MPH. No real comparison though, obvs.

You cannot say that the Lotus 907 is a big torquey engine with its 2 litres, 140BHP and 18kg.m or 130 lb.ft.

A Jensen GT or a Jensen Healey is perfectly capable of handling the 100mph/160km/h, stable and comfortable but for the noise. Beyond that and it starts getting slightly hairy as the front is getting a bit unsettled. I have done top speed at about 190km/h at around 6500rpm in the past but it is not to be recommended.
