I had a good look around for dead bodies but I couldn’t find any, it’s amazing that this occurred around lunchtime on Thursday during a long awaited mid-week break. No note, no witnesses, you know as much as I do. I give the perpetrators full marks for artistic prowess and bravado!

The kids of Bath eh

If that's your car Jon then you seem remarkably sanguine about it. What is all the red stuff?

Having spent this afternoon washing the rest of it off I would take a guess that it is probably fake blood left over from Halloween.
You would be surprised at how many folk associate the car with James Bond! In some ways I wished had left it on there for a couple of days just to see people’s reaction. :D

Sanguine derives from sanguineus, Latin for "blood" or "bloody"

Blood bath in Bath. Probably an akward drive to the next car wash :D Glad it didn't cause a damage to the car.

Our C-V8 is the same colour: I hear some pedestrian say James Bond everytime I'm out and about in the C-V8

Have you thought it might have been some "Woke" climate large engine hater? Years ago when living in NY I saw a few women wearing mink coats or similar have red paint thrown at them. Led to real fur being abandoned and very non PC. Just a thought. kenny38

Maybe, but the ‘Woke’ might have found the Porsche Panamera V8 directly opposite me equally tempting, what do ‘Wokes’ know about these things?
Perhaps the Porsche was the wrong colour, gunmetal grey!

Nothing compared to what a friend who also lives in the city is experiencing with her 15 year old Range Rover, which she bought for next to nothing not long ago. The car is getting keyed, spat on, she is given the finger... meanwhile I use the C-V8 frequently in the city, and often park it on the streets, in all parts of town. Never a problem, never get hassled by anyone- on the contrary I get thumbs up from people left and right, whether cyclists, bankers, the fast and furious type car owners, toddlers, teens, dogs (I'm not joking, but granted- he didn't have a thumb. But he was sniffing our cars- Andi was also there with his FF- barking at them, wagging his tail. The owner shrugging his shoulders said that the dog likes cars for some reason :D ). But who knows if the general attitude will change.

The 2005 model year on looks annoyingly blinged up to most eko warrior types. It is also the first model of Range Rover not to have a proper chassis. We have not had a problem with the previous generation Range Rovers over a few years, shopping trips and parking in Zurich, although not on a daily basis in the centre.

The simplest answer is just kids throwing red stuff over a different looking car. Some autistic people don't like the front "eyes". People probably did notice "The Throwing" but walked on as they would have been next. You mention a Porsche opposite, well it's not really done to damage a Porsche....a bit uncivilised. There are still standards. You probably needed to wash your car anyway.

It's perhaps ironic that this appears to be in the car park a just few yards away from the late-lamented Bath police station ....
