Fantastic pictures.
If only I got the senses to make pictures when I visited the factory in 1988... Only got one or two pics of scrap / parts cars outside the factory.

The bare metal convertible could be mine. The dates line up, it had the S4 metal spoiler and the pictures look very similar to the pile that came with the car.

Very cool, Julian. I'll try to get the factory pictures scanned, but that may take a while as the album is now with the new owner of one of the cars that took part in the trip.

Re: Jensen Factory photos 1989
I made a trip to Jensen at Kelvin way around this time too. In retrospect I was very lucky that I was allowed to wander around and look through their archives in a very friendly atmosphere, but it was good business for them too as I was buying a lot of spares from them at the time. Boss Ian Orford was very relaxed about it, and I remember looking through many photographs of prototype cars during construction. In my excitement I accidently spilt tea over some, I quickly fessed up and a lot of kitchen rolls appeared and no damage was done I wish I took copies of them now, someone must have

The trimmer looks like Eric. I had recently bought the P66 at that time and they were making it roadworthy before I took delivery.

Yes, that is Eric. I had my FF fully re-trimmed in ivory Connolly hide, it looked great . Jensen did a lot of other bits to 127/218 at the same time...
Re: Jensen Factory photos 1989

Re: Jensen Factory photos 1989
Nice photos and happy memories. I was living in Bourton and working at Gravelly Hill (literally beneath the M6), I used to go the long way round via West Brom. The shaver connection in the Interceptor came in handy.
I remember being shown around when DLR was there, I think the P66 had just arrived, fantastic to see the car in the flesh after devouring all the Jensen books I could get.
I also remember the huge print outs from the Subaru parts system they were using. Weird the things you remember

I'm aware that International Motors took over the Jensen dealerships to sell Subarus. Did they also own Kelvin Way? And was the use of the Subaru parts system a formal part of the arrangements, or were they just using whatever was at hand?zacmarshall wrote: ↑Thu Oct 07, 2021 9:37 pm I also remember the huge print outs from the Subaru parts system they were using.
