This came through the door today, amazing how we go from scum to wanted just like that, same during the pandemic, we were heroes then, returning to our usual place of always being in the way soon after, and now the country is in the s$$t here we go again.
Come on youngster, join our "profession", pay £5000 to get your licence so you can get up at 4am, spend 15 hours a day getting the middle finger and told "we weren't expecting you, you'll have to wait", with no where to shower, no decent facilities, no where to park, and yes, you can do all that for minimum wage! Well, what are you waiting for?...

Got to agree Simon. That's why I do not drive them anymore .. Couldn't pay enough to go back.
Only working half a day now.

Re: HGV Driver's in demand... for now.
It seems to be the case of a lot of drivers at the moment, a friend used to employ a van driver to deliver goods he manufactures, the person he employed was in his late 20's and he paid him 12.00 an hour. He got a call saying could he put his wages up as he had been offered £14 an hour. He is now using a carrier as it is cheaper than employing his own driver and running a van.
