Many cars have gone abroad, one ex USAF friend took back three CV8's with him when his posting at RAF Benwarters/Woodbridge air base ended. One of these three was later stolen while he was on another posting out east. John Staddon has details of these. However many others have gone overseas never to be heard of again. My first 541 went to Austria in the 80's and has never been seen or heard of since, except for the handbook which turned up being sold by an Italian vendor on Ebay much later. I tried to find out more details from him but he said he did not know anything about the car. Perhaps it was written off, I have no idea.
Perhaps we only know details of 50% of the cars which have gone abroad, or less. Some of course under dubious cicumstances to eastern bloc countries.

David, you're a mine of information...

There were only three Regal Red C-V8s with a black interior and only one of them is recorded on the Isle of Man, 112/2458 was owned by a Mr Phillips of Ballaugh, IoM, by 1981 (probably the date he joined the JOC rather than the date he bought the car) but by July of 1984 it was owned by a man in London, who could well have bought it from CBG. 2458 has had a number of different registrations, prior to 1981 it was owned by Phillip James Dudley and then, rather oddly, by Peter John Dunne and the second registration recorded for the car is PJD 428, so either of the two gentleman with the initials PJD could have put PJD 428 on it. Later it was registered KYC 596D and I assumed the last 'PJD', Mr Dunne, retained the PJD reg when he sold it and that the KYC reg was then assigned to it, but it seems very likely from what you say that it had an IoM reg after the PJD one. 112/2458 went to Germany and I think it is still there.

Oyster Grey was probably the same as Aston Martin Oyster Shell Grey and I've always understood that colour has a slight pink tint to it.

I can't swear to it, but I seem to remember that Phil Dudley had the PJD reg on the car when he owned it. Phil lived in the Yate area near Bristol and several CV8's went through his hands.I went to his house once and there were around three CV8's in the back yard. Phil went over to Jaguars I think after his session with the Jensen V8's.
If the original JOC membership form is still around then the reg number may be on his sheet.

John

I have details of a few score CV8s I have seen over the last 40 years in my misspent youth and middle age. I will try to pull the details together on a spreadsheet at some point and send it to you just in case it fills any gaps.

Maybe ask the US-based members? They have lots of Jensen-Healey owners who are very enthusiast and keen to display.

But I agree, and am somewhat bemused at the lack of Jensen-Healeys at the International. You'll remember back in the mid-80s (at Penns Hall for example) there would be a long row of Interceptors on one side (of the car park — I'm sure all will shocked, incensed and enraged, but I find that's actually quite a sensible place to park cars), and an equally long row of Jensen-Healeys and GTs on the other side.

Where have they all gone?
