Peter Gabriel - Solsbury Hill Car Photo

Post by shaun »

Came across this yesterday whilst exploring the delights of Spotify.

Is it an Interceptor? No windscreen wiper but have been removed?

Any thoughts?

Shaun,
I think the Interceptor and FF bonnets have a chamfer at the rear corners.
Good puzzle, though.

Also back cover. It's a coupe of some sort.

Apparently it checks out as a Lancia Flavia. The curve on the top half of the door leading edge is quite distinctive.

It’s a line from the Moribund the Burgermeister song on the album.

I thought it was appropriate!

For comparison:

This is the later version with headlamps like an Interceptor; the earlier ones have separate grille and lights. Flavia is very similar in feel to a Jensen.

Thanks everybody for that.

It was my partner who said that looks a bit like an Interceptor.

Lancia eh?

As for Mr Gabriel, saw him and Genesis on their Lamb Lies Down on Broadway tour at the Liverpool Empire just before he went solo. Can't remember the year. 74 or 75 I think.
